Heroin effects. So people who use it responsibly

Heroin is a highly addictive, illegal drug. It is used by millions of addicts around the world who are unable to overcome the urge to continue taking this drug every day of their lives—knowing that if they stop, they will face the horror of withdrawal. It is made from a poppy plant and people usually make heroin from the morphine. Heroin is so addictive, because the body soon becomes dependent on it. When you depend on it your body feels good and you get into a cycle of taking the drug. When you come off of heroin you will most likely feel ill because you depend on it so long.  Teens are getting addicted because they usually experiment with different drugs such as heroin, so experimenting plays a big role in getting addicted. They usually start experimenting because of peer pressure, stress, or probably emotional reasons. Most teens don’t directly start using heroin, they probably start with marijuana then they want to move up and try other drugs. It is also very cheap to get heroin than most of any other drugs. The price can vary in different countries or states, but it can go from $1.90 to $1,330 per gram. Heroin can not be prescribed for medical use in the United States, but the United Kingdom. It is a very strong pain medication where it can help relieve pain and physical trauma. Narcan reverses or tries and stops the side effects of opioids, so it is like a medication. As stated on drugs.com, “Narcan is injected into a muscle, under the skin, or into a vein through IV.” There are side effects, such as, vomiting, nausea, fever or sweating, fast heartbeat. You can also overdose on Narcan,  My thoughts on Narcan is that is has a lot of side effects. It reverses the effects of opioids, but has more to it due to the side effects. In some states, you can get Narcan without prescription in twelve states, so I would use it at your own risk. Narcan can enable addicts because it is very easy to get, and basically anyone can get it, so that could enable them. Narcan also stops other people from opioid or heroin use because it reverses the effects. So people who use it responsibly are doing the right thing. They are getting the help they need. Heroin has been associated with weapons, violence and terrorism – all of which can have a devastating impact on society. In the 1800’s alcoholism was a big problem because people were dying from it and one of the major sources of violence. So, there was a cure for alcoholism called an opium. It was from opium that morphine, developed a pain killer in 1810. It was a drug because it would put you numb, and took away severe pain. In 1850 morphine was available in the United States and it became popular with the medical profession. The drug had addictive properties and that’s when people started to get hooked on it. People said that heroin was a safe non addictive substitute for heroin. By 1925 there were over 150,000 people who became addicts today, which is still going. In the article, “Methoide.fcm.arizona.edu” it states that, “Opium was initially used by Egyptians and Persians, eventually spreading to various parts of Europe, China, and India. There are different types of heroin, such as black heroin, white heroin, brown heroin, and tar heroin. There can be different ways of taking heroin such as, smoking heroin, shooting heroin like with a needle, and snorting heroin. There are also popular names for heroin on the streets, such as, Dope, H, Horse, or Snow. Rehabs can help heroin addicts to get off of the drug or get better.
