In the time period of Hitler’s reign, Germany really depended on their youth. They were putting so much effort into their indoctrination so that they could change the future and achieve their goals. They really cared so much about the Nazi youth that they made propaganda on it and they controlled the school system just to “help” the youth become better people. During the time period in which Germany had become anti semitic, many german children had decided to make various groups that rebelled against the Nazi party each in their own way. Take the swing kids, for example they instead of listening to the nazi music that everyone had to listen you they listened to American jazz music, they didn’t use any kind of violence, but yes that was some way of rebelling. Instead of listening to the Nazi music they listened to American jazz music. There were multiple groups of young rebels back then, but another major one was Edelweiss pirates. These children would resist the nazi party, they were more of a boys and girls scout than the other group because of their openness to both genders and because of their activities like camping and hiking. In some extreme cases, these kids were sent to concentration camps because of their resistance. These group of kids really affected the way that Germany was to become because it wasn’t how Hitler wanted things to go. Back then the nazi party really believed that the children were to become the future. The children who actually followed and respected the Nazi party were the Deutsches Jungvolk, they were the young men were completely devoted to Hitler, in they were taught to hate Jews, to be merciful to them, they were taught to become part of the nazi party. The Nazi youth groups changed the education for german kids, they told them how amazing their race was, and changed the only history books they knew to make it seem like the jews were the bane of all humanity. They also made Germany seem extremely powerful, and taught them how jews were the worst kind of race there was out of all the other races. They taught them that history was about blood and sacrifice and to be forever loyal to Hitler. They put propaganda posters everywhere around the school. They sang songs in the beginning of class honoring Hitler and raised one arm , in the books they gave them it talked about how to find a jew, it showed how they looked and how different their faces were. Everyone had to say a greeting to one another and if they did not it would be considered very rude to the people in the room, a lot of children did not want to say that greeting because they thought it was too embarrassing to say, the greeting was “Heil Hitler!” with also raising their arm while saying it. They changed the children’s way of learning by hitler’s way of thinking, and how he saw the world he wanted others to see it his way too. There were the same type of groups of girls too, though they were different from the Deutsches Jungvolk, they taught young teenage girls how to be the “perfect wives” for Nazi soldiers. This group of girls was called, “Bund deutscher mädel”. In this group they taught young ladies how to cook, clean, respect their husbands, and nurse them back to health, but in general they had to learn how to become good mothers/ wives. They were being taught how to nurse soldier’s if they were hurt from the war, they were taught how to survive air raids. Hitler had made people believe that the best thing for the young was to teach both genders, different things and what all women are supposed to do and what all men are supposed to do. They did not want the women to carry on with their education, they limited how many women can pass and that was at least 10 percent of them. Women had to mature faster than the boys did because of the things that were expected from women. The women would have to have many children and all the men would do is feed them, they told them the more children you have the more future generation nazis they would get. The girls were banned from learning Latin which was something you needed to learn in order to go to a university or anywhere higher . They wanted the women to become dedicated to nazism. The girls were banned from learning Latin which was something you needed to learn in order to go to a university or anywhere higher. They wanted the women to become dedicated to nazism. Although women were able to choose who they wanted to start a family with and get comfortable with the family they were still obligated to do the things they were taught. Women leaders were examples of what the girls should be and if they were bad they were not leaders but they were failures. Back then they had treated both genders completely differently from now like how they taught young women how to become good wives and young men how to be boy scouts and were being taught how to use weapons so they could become soldiers. The reason they invested so much for these kids was because it was part of hitler’s plan to change Germany. He had changed most of Germany form the way they though to the way that other countries would perceive them but not in a good way.In conclusion Hitler changed the way that these children thought and acted he made them believe things that were not at all true. These kids mattered so much to the nazi party because of how they thought that they could make Germany better. They needed these children to create the future they had planned for. Though he made no difference to help better Germany, he did in fact change the children of Germany during this time.
