P1 describe the hardware and software used to create and edit graphic imagesHardwareHard drive – is place where all information is stored on PC therefore this is important part for “Digital Graphics”. But nowadays there are two different types of hard drives HDD (Hard Disk Drive) and SSD (Solid State Drive). If take comparison to those two drives everything depends on what are your plans for them. SSD is much faster in opening files but when you are copy and at same time opening different file speed of this disk is decreasing in geometrical proportion. When you will be using HDD you won’t have same problems but general speed of opening files will be lower than in SSD. One of the main reason why hard drive is important for digital graphics is that fact that you store all this files on it and depending on what type of drive you store it you will have different capabilities. For example for quick access to your files you will prefer SSD because of how fast system can read information from this type of drive. When HDD is used for exact storing data and information on this drives because of storing capabilities ap to 10 TB this is useful because of large file size of some graphic products. RAM – (random access memory) is type of memory which stores information on very high speed therefore this type of memory is used for open files and apps/programs. Today are used two types of RAM DDR3 and DDR4. DDR3 is old generation on RAM therefore it works slower than DDR4 but at the same time DDR3 is cheaper. General purpose of RAM is that all active programs are using RAM memory to run. In other words RAM is main computer memory which computer is using to work with current opened materials when hard drive is used only as storage therefore more RAR your computer have more tasks you can do at the same time. CPU – The main component of the modern computer, designed to manage all its devices and perform arithmetic and logical operations. So in other words CPU is a functional part of the computer that is made for the interpretation of commands. The two typical components of a CPU include the following:arithmetic logic unit (ALU), which performs arithmetic and logical operations, the control unit (CU), which extracts instructions from memory and decodes and executes them, calling on the ALU when necessary. In other words CPU controls all computer units and giving them comand like humans brain.Graphic Card – part of the computer, intended for processing and generation of images with their subsequent display on the peripheral device. Simply put, the graphics card is needed to visualise all the actions and processes that you perform on your computer by displaying them on the monitor screen. Computer data transmitted by the video card processing and transmits a ready video signal to the screen. And because this unit used for high quality picture transmission it is important for graphic work.Keyboard – is a standard input device, a set of ordered keys in a device used for data entry and editing, and the management of individual operations. Keyboard is used to type or for graphical editing it is used as shortcut device to quickly change between tools and options in graphical editing program.Mouse – one of the pointing device pointers that allows the user to interact with the computer through the interface. Graphic Tablet – is one of the devices which would be used by professional artists and people who is working with 3D modeling because of its features. This device is used as a pointing device in different graphical editing software because it is more easy to use for complex image manipulation because you can more clearly direct your motion.Display/screen – this is part of computer which accepts signals from Graphic card and generate visual picture for any of your action. There are different types of displays and some of them can be alternative to a mouse and keyboard because of touchscreen and therefore you can interact with your computer interface strete through your display. There are different types of displays starting with different frequency and different colour ratio. All these aspects are important because of work with graphical products and therefore you need to have good refresh rate which depends on frequency and colour ratio is allowing your screen display bigger range of colours. Scanner – is an input device with which any graphical information (photos, text and pictures) is converted into an electronic version that can be saved in the form of various file types, such as images (JPEG, TIF) and document (PDF, DOC , DOCS) and others.SoftwareGIMP – (The GNU Image Manipulation Program) is a graphical editor. GIMP applications include digital retouching of images, digital graphics, combining and digital image processing, automated operations on graphic files, file conversion from one format to another. GIMP is often used as a free and free alternative to Adobe Photoshop.Adobe Photoshop – graphic editor developed and distributed by Adobe Systems. This product is a market leader in commercial bitmap image editing, and the most famous product of Adobe. Often this program is called simply Photoshop.Among the features of Adobe Photoshop, you can highlight the following: high quality graphic image processing, ease of use, great opportunities that allow you to perform any operations of creating and processing images, a wide range of automation of raster images based on the use of scripts, a modern mechanism for working with color profiles that allows their implementation in image files to automatically correct the color parameters when printing for different devices, large set of filtering commands, with which you can create a variety of artistic effectsPaint – A simple graphical editor of Microsoft, which is part of all Windows operating systems, starting with the first versions. This is a freeware have number of disadvantages over other graphical editors and they are: missing brightness change function, it is not possible to specify the desired size in pixels when resizing (the feature appeared in Windows 10), it is impossible to make a font from the right edge or center, can not move borders of selection area, unable to rotate the figures to a certain degree. In comparison to Adobe Photoshop Paint have much lesh functional features, for example in Photoshop you can have different layers for one picture and therefore it is more easy to edit certain parts of a particular parts if you require. Plus there are massive difference in terms of tools and types of brushes which can you use for editing. So paid software have big advantage over freeware.Darktable – a photo editing program that acts as a free alternative to products such as Adobe Lightroom and Apple Aperture. Darktable supports RAW images and provides a large selection of modules for performing all kinds of photo processing operations. Darktable allows you to maintain a base of photos, visualize navigation on available snapshots and, if necessary, perform distortion correction and quality improvement operations, while retaining the initial snapshot and the entire history of operations with it.Inkscape – is a vector graphic editor, the program is licensed under the terms of the GNU General Public License. The program is based on a set of libraries for constructing the GTK + graphical interface. Inkscape’s native recording format is SVG, it supports reading and writing images in SVG, OpenDocument Drawing, DXF, PNG, WMF, EMF, sk1, PDF, EPS, PostScript formats. The program can use smoothing, transparency control, creation of fill gradients, has a built-in set of ready-made templates, can work with vector fonts. The advantage of the program is a wide range of effects that can be used to create a variety of images for artistic and design purposes.
