The research focus was to understand the entrepreneur’s
journey and develop thoughtful ideas form it. It also led us to comprehend how
knowledge gained by him that he used to pace his entrepreneurial journey. The
strength of phenomenology is its greater efficiency and permits simplifications
beyond current sample. The weaknesses lists, the difficulty in getting the data
and difficulties in unification of discrepant evidence.

As per Rerup and Feldman (2011) Investigative Theory
Deducing is one of the research vehicles to be used to conduct research. The
primary aim was to understand and have an inductive approach towards our
research question. This methodological approach is unified with data-driven encryptions
and theory-driven practices whose basis is on the beliefs of social

We use the Inductive approach or
inductive reasoning as it begins with the explanations and theories upon
entrepreneurship and knowledge brokering which were anticipated towards the end
of the project, deduced as remarks or observations
(Goddard and Melville, 2004).  Inductive research ”involves the search
for pattern from observation and the development of explanations – theories”
(Bernard, 2011, p 7). Under the inductive studies, we have all the rights to alter
the course for the study. However more importantly, inductive approach does not
suggest ignoring theories while articulating the aim of the research.  With this approach we aim to create meaning
from the data collected through interviewing and draw an outline to justify
existing entrepreneurship theories and entrepreneurial journey. This is to find
new answers to the research question using knowledge brokering as a tool. We, through
our research, used the existing theories to formulate the research question (Saunders
et al, 2012, p 112).  We had based the Inductive reasoning on acquiring knowledge
from learnings through the experiences gained by the entrepreneur. Neuman
(2013) also stated that experience patterns, similarities and symmetries of the
entrepreneur are detected in order to reach deductions.

If we recreate the
epistemological research style which is based on paradigms of positivism and constructionist (phenomenology) on the X-axis, with ideas being detached or engaged on the Y-axis. We could place our methodology in the
engaged-constructionist quarter. Dwelling deep into the paradigms classified, we
could relate it to pragmatism (Easterby-Smith,
et al, 2015, p 172). We could understand that nothing can be generated without
meaningful structured live experiences. Pragmatism is an appreciated outlook in
management research because it emphases on procedures that are predominantly
pertinent to lessons of knowledge and learning (Easterby-Smith, et al, 2015, p
173). Charmaz (2014) said that the influence on approaches can be understood in
the custom and systems of grounded theory discussed under the data analysis
section below.
